The Crash. 365 Tomorrows

My new flash fiction piece THE CRASH is now available at 365tomorrows.com. The website has been offering daily sci-fi stories since 2005, written by a talented in-house team as well as a variety of contributors.

Having been focused on my recently completed historical fiction manuscript (The Treacherous Exhibit) and its unnamed sequel, I decided to take a break from all that research and create something that doesn’t require any fact-checking.

I have always enjoyed reading and writing sci-fi though I would classify myself as more of a “pop” sci-fi guy than an avid reader of the complex stuff. In other words, I veer towards the fiction rather than the science. HG Wells, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Close Encounters, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Interstellar, are my cup of tea as opposed to Arthur C Clarke. I struggle to take life entirely seriously and have never really been engaged by intense, intellectual, tech-heavy sci-fi.

In this particular work, the principal characters are a couple of young fellows named Kai and Eli. They recklessly embark on a joyride in Dad’s vehicle and things go downhill very quickly. The sci-fi element becomes clearer later in the narrative. Please give it a read and let me know your thoughts on Twitter @authorDanTheMa1
